NCIL Welcomes Aaron Baier As Region II Representative!

NCIL is excited to announce our new Region II Representative, Aaron Baier from Access to Independence of Cortland County, Inc.

Aaron T. Baier is the newly appointed member of the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) Board of Directors and represents Region II (New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands). Aaron is the Executive Director of Access to Independence of Cortland County, Inc. in Central New York and brings more than 14 years of experience in the Independent Living Movement and grassroots advocacy.

According to his coworkers, Aaron is unapologetically himself and inspires others to be themselves. He enjoys making the best out of every situation and is described as an eternal optimist. He is passionate about disability, civil and human rights, and continues to participate in and encourage others to take part in various intersectional movements. He strives to connect with people and help them connect with resources and opportunities. Aaron is also legally blind.

In his down time, Aaron is drawn to creativity and finds peace in music and the arts, and is a shameless tech-nerd. Aaron also enjoys spending quality time with his loving wife, Maria, and fur-kids, Guinness, Stella and Tardis.
