NCIL 2013 Diversity Award: Open for Nominations!

The NCIL Diversity Committee Award for Excellence will be given to organizations that have demonstrated culturally and linguistically competent programs that enhance the lives of people with disabilities from diverse backgrounds. The nomination will follow framework that supports the broader vision of diversity at NCIL. The NCIL Diversity Award seeks to identify and recognize best practices in developing and implementing culturally and linguistically competent programs and / or services that meet the needs of a diverse population of people with disabilities.

Eligible applicants must:

  • be a Center for Independent Living or a Statewide Independent Living Council,
  • have a program and / or service targeted to people with disabilities from a diverse background that has been tested and has a proven track record,
  • be a current member of NCIL (applicant or organization), and
  • agree to be present at the awards program to be held at the 2013 NCIL Conference in Washington, DC.
