The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Administration for Community Living (ACL) announced this morning a new funding opportunity designed to enhance the CMS’ Medicare-Medicaid Financial Alignment Initiative.
Today’s funding announcement will support the development of Ombudsman programs, which are designed to amplify the beneficiary voice in the Financial Alignment initiative. These programs are designed to:
- Ensure that individual beneficiaries have access to person-centered assistance in resolving problems related to the demonstrations.
- Inform states, health plans, CMS, and other stakeholders regarding beneficiary experiences
- Recommend areas of improvement in Financial Alignment demonstrations.
Many of you have contacted us about the importance of independent ombudsman programs. Your input was instrumental in developing this funding opportunity.
